The BOSS Waza Craft HM-2W Heavy Metal distortion effects pedal is a special edition of the iconic '80s stompbox, delivering the authentic Swedish death metal analog tone that defined an era of heavy rock, now enhanced for today's guitarist. The HM-2W provides the original HM-2 sound in Standard mode, along with a Custom mode for more aggressive distortion. Premium components and a Waza Craft buffer reduce noise and improve tone.
Standard Mode: The Original Swedish Chainsaw
When in Standard mode, the HM-2W reproduces the tone and response of the legendary original HM-2 pedal. Crank up the distortion and you'll get the "chainsaw" grind that shaped '80s extreme metal. Dial it back for a range of heavy rock tones. The Waza Craft HM-2W Heavy Metal improves on the original with lower noise and 3dB more maximum level. The premium Waza Craft buffer also enhances tone when the pedal is bypassed.
Get Even Heavier With Custom Mode
The HM-2W's Custom mode delivers the pedal's signature sound with more gain and low end for a heavier, fuller tone. The drive provides extra saturation and bite, while tweaks to the low and high mids result in a weightier, more defined distortion. Custom mode takes the HM-2W into more modern and extreme metal territory.
