The Ibanez Yvette Young YY20 Signature guitar is as singular as the player who inspired it. Classically trained on piano and violin, Young breaks barriers using open tunings and tapping. As the leader of math-rock outfit Covet, she's written and recorded inspiring instrumentals with a sound that's instantly recognizable. Based on one of Young's custom Ibanez Talman guitars, the YY20 lets anyone capture that same magic. The alder body delivers enriched resonance and sustain. A maple neck provides a bright tonal counterbalance; the rosewood fretboard adds a touch of tradition.
Young spec'd a set of Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II humbuckers for this signature. Using low-pull magnets, they're warm and sweet at lower volumes. When overdriven, these Duncans sing soulfully and expressively with wonderful, smooth highs. Gotoh MG-T locking tuners make it easy to change strings; the Gotoh GTC202 bridge has six steel saddles for precise intonation. Young trained as a visual artist and the YY20 comes with special stickers of her own design.
