Rhythmized Repeats
Customizable delay makes up the entire essence of the MXR Joshua Ambient Echo pedal, offering control of the tempo and number of repeats through Delay and Regen parameters, in addition to their rhythm. A Division knob cycles values between a 1/4 note, 1/8 note, dotted 1/8, 1/8-note triplet and doubled 1/8 notes, adding a distinct rhythmic element that’s able to fit any musical context. There’s even an Echo 2 switch that engages secondary repeats set to a 1/4-note value, which can be used as a steady pulse offset by the primary echo’s subdivision. Taking its Ambient Echo designation to heart, the MXR Joshua also has a Trails button that allows delay repeats to organically fade into the infinite after you’ve switched the pedal off.
