Have you ever seen a video of Queen playing live, or the biographical movie Bohemian Rhapsody? If so, you may have noticed Freddie Mercury wielding his favorite mic: the Shure 565SD Unisphere Vocal Microphone. Freddie's mic of choice can now be yours. Give it a try. You’ll love its ideal response for vocals, rugged design, distinct metallic finish and super-handy On-Off switch.

As a predecessor to the SM58, the Shure 565SD is perfect for live vocal performances and is a professional microphone used not only by Freddie Mercury, but by all the greats that graced the stages of Woodstock a few years before Freddie came along. To the dedicated vocalist, it’s a mic you’ll never outgrow and that will sound great on stages of any size, supporting your musical ascent every step of the way.

Shure 565SD Unisphere Vocal Microphone in detail
The Model 565SD Unisphere is a dual impedance unidirectional dynamic microphone with a strong, built-in wire-mesh spherical front that contains a very effective filter designed to provide excellent protection from wind and "pop" (explosive breath sounds). The unit provides wide range reproduction of music and voice, and can be effectively used outdoors and indoors.

It features a cardioid pick-up pattern to effectively reject unwanted sound from its sides and rear, honing in on your voice, while eliminating bleed on a noisy stage. It also works great to reduce feedback so it can be used close to floor monitors and loudspeakers without creating problems. With a wide frequency range, from 40Hz to 15 kHz, and wide dynamic range, the mic picks up all the audible frequencies of the human voice while rolling off unwanted high and low-end.

The Unisphere is ideal for use by professional entertainers in high-quality theatre-stage sound systems and recording, as well as critical public-address systems such as those used in political conventions and legislatures, convention halls, hotels, public auditoriums, stadiums, cathedrals and churches.

The Unisphere features an exceptionally uniform and effective unidirectional pickup pattern-provides an easy solution to feedback problems in reverberant locations, permits the best utilization of space in small studios, facilitates orchestral placement, and provides practically complete exclusion of unwanted noises.
